09.02.2012 Wellington, New Zealand

After a long chatty night with a lot of wine, Rahel made breakfast for all of us. As we talked before we would drive today to Wellington and we will drop of the girls and we would continue our trip alone. Rahel approached me that it was to uncomfortable to sleep in the car and sleeping outside with a sleeping was not possible, because it was too cold and rainy and as we heard the South Island was suppose to be even colder. She apologized but we understood. Taylor made a graph for us that we still saved money because they travelled with us and they offered to pay money towards the ferry cost for the car. Robert and I got really angry about the graph thing. Just say you can't sleep another day in the car or you don't like our company. So all in all was just better to go separate ways at this point.

The drive was quite long through winding roads and we arrived late afternoon in town after arranging all finical aspects. We asked were they would like to be dropped off and Taylor said just anywhere close to the city center. So after finding our way around a city with way too many one way roads we came to a stop and explained that we right in front of the city center and if they liked to be dropped off here as requested. Somehow Rahel just realized that Taylor just wanted to be dropped off anywhere, she was wondering if we can trop them off at the hostel they booked. We said no problem. After we found the hostel on the map I explained that we can only drive a parallel street due to the one way system. Taylor also had the map in the hand but was not even helping to find the location as we were driving. At that moment Robert had enough and said a bit louder, either you help to find it or we trop you off right here as it should be close by. We ended up dropping them off said our goodbyes and were looking for our camping location.

We couldn't believe that we were really able to find a camping option about 10 minutes from the Wellington city center.

We only had the evening and the next morning in Wellington before we took the ferry to the South Island. It was extremely windy and quite cold in Wellington. After setting everything up and we had dinner we walked to the city center with all the fancy restaurants, pubs and shops.

Really a lovely city, but as we wanted to see the nature of New Zealand we were not too sorry to leave Wellington the next morning by ferry, after a big shopping trip in the Supermarket to buy foot.
