So we continued our journey in a less crowded car but it was still uncomfortable. The bumpy and windy road made it not much better.

Even the great views over the mountains made this trip not really enjoyable. When we arrived about 6 hours later in Dalat we were greeted by a cooler climate and a buzzing town of Vietnamese Tourists. The town is a honeymoon destination for the locals and everything is romantic for the Vietnamese and very cheese for the westerners.

First we walked around town to get a sense of orientation. We quickly found the center with its market hall of all kind of things including the food market. One specialty of the market was an amazing Avocado Shake.

In the evening we returned to the food market to have dinner and Uschi practiced her chop stick skills. Especially all the Asians around us enjoyed to watch, film and take photos of an westerner try to use their every day tool for the first time.
The next day we did a trip with a local, previous easy rider. He picked us up in a van and helped us to find another hotel. There we also met Iris and Klaus who joined us for the tour. Our first stop was at the cable car to sweep across the Valley of Love.
We also walked passed the "Xuan Huong Lake".

We also went to a beautiful but touristy Pagoda.

In the minority "chicken" village we learnt a bit more about the different minorities of Vietnam.

We walked on a slippery way to the "Thak Voi" waterfalls, also known as the elephant falls.

We went to different places to learn how to make silk. We saw the silk caterpillars eat leaves to transform into cocoons and how the silk is unwrapped from the cocoons.

In the end of the day we went to the "Crazy House" to see the fulfillment of a crazy architect.

All in all the trip was a success we learnt much more than here mentioned from mushroom plantations to flower green houses.
Later that evening we had dinner with Iris and Klaus and had to get ready for a departure the next morning
More Dalat pictures.
