14.03.2012 Cradle Mountain, Tasmania, Australia

The morning was a rough one, especially for Robert. He insisted he had food poisoning that morning, as he got sick several times, Even the dip into the lake did not help. Jodi and I were wondering if it was the consume of alcohol the day before and it might have been the mixing of beer and cider. But until today for Robert it was food poisoning; we give him the benefit of the doubt for this case.

We had breakfast and Robert didn't, or at least he didnt keep it in him for a long time. We drove to the Cradle Mt. and Lake St. Claire National Park. It was a glorious day and from the far distance we could see the distinctive Cradle Mountain already.

As it was already late morning we decided to do an extended half day walk. We already got an amazing view close to the car park.

We hiked up to Marion's look out. The sun gave us no mercy and beamed down on us and only the occasional breeze helped little to cool us down.

On the way up we already got views of other lakes.

After Robert's tough morning he still made it up first.

All the sweating was forgotten when we reached the lookout and we were able to enjoy the scenery.

We walked past the lookout to continue our walk past Cradle Mountain face and through the forest to get back to the car park. The dip in this water was a lot colder and shorter then usually. But this crystal Clearwater was too beautiful to be missed out on!

What a beautiful day at the park and we were especially happy that Jodi was able to join us and we were able to spend a few extra hours with her after a way too short visit.

If you would like to see more pictures,... I guess you know the drill by now: Cradle Mountain
